About the Event

With thrilling racing and a strong rider field guaranteed, spectators will once again have the opportunity to watch the action live at Derby Arena

Due to the impact of Covid-19 The National Madison Championships haven't been held since October 2019, where the men’s event was won by Fred Wright and world championships scratch race bronze medallist Rhys Britton, while Anna Docherty and Paralympic silver and bronze medallist Jenny Holl won the women’s event.

Since then the Great Britain Cycling Team has enjoyed a number of famous victories in the events, notably Laura Kenny and Katie Archibald in the Madison at the Tokyo Olympic Games.

Event organiser, Phil Kilpatrick: “The last few years have been challenging for everyone so the opportunity to host the National Madison and Omnium Championships again is a pleasure. The racing and riders for the last few years have been world class and I’m sure that the 2022 Championships will be no different. It’s going to be great to get the crowds in and create the atmosphere we are known to generate.”
