TWO QUEENS is a new play that brings Mary, Queen of Scots imprisonment in Derbyshire to life alongside the dilemma faced by Elizabeth I when treachery is unearthed.
This lively tale of Tudor England features a host of characters including Bess of Hardwick and the traitor Anthony Babington who lived at Dethick Manor.
TWO QUEENS takes the audience on a journey from Mary's arrival in England and her incarceration, through accusations of sexual impropriety, subterfuge, espionage and execution. Tears and laughter are applied in equal quantities.
Written and produced by George Gunby, TWO QUEENS is directed by Rebecca Holmes. The cast and crew are all Derbyshire born or based including The Sunflower Thieves who have written the songs featured in the show.
